Not Just Another Day at the Beach

The Best Looks From Cannes

Six days into the 61st annual Cannes Film Festival and competition for Best Dressed (not an official awards category, but maybe jury president Sean Penn can correct that unfortunate oversight) is heating up the Croisette. First out of the gate was Devon Aoki, who dazzled at the Blindness premiere in silver-sequined Alberta Ferretti. The following evening, Brangelina was thisclose to being upstaged by Eva Longoria Parker's frothy Atelier Versace number at the Kung Fu Panda screening. With co-star Scarlett Johansson a no-show at the Vicky Cristina Barcelona premiere, Penélope Cruz's Marchesa frock won by default, while Natalie Portman scored major points in soignée Chanel Haute Couture at Indiana Jones. Offering a brief respite from the red-carpet races, Vanity Fair hosted its annual Cannes party Saturday night, where A-listers like Bono, Mick Jagger, and Diane von Furstenberg supped, danced, and basked in the soft glow of one another's fabulousness.
