Chanel Expands Its California Roots

PHOTOS
As if Robertson Boulevard weren't already enough of a paparazzi magnet, it's now home to Los Angeles' second Chanel boutique. On Thursday night, Rachel Bilson, Kirsty Hume, Arianna Huffington, and Michelle Trachtenberg braved run-ins with aggressive lensmen to attend the opening party. "Chanel is just always cool," said Amber Valletta, one of the hosts. "That's why I hang on to all my pieces." The evening, which featured a silent auction of original photographs from the likes of Steven Meisel and one Karl Lagerfeld, benefited L.A.'s Global Wellness Institute. Inspired by the SoCal locale, the quintessential French house also debuted a limited-edition nail polish line with names like Rodeo Drive and Melrose, which are, for now, available exclusively at the Robertson Boulevard location. Even better, the sunglass collection includes Rachel Zoe-size versions to battle the paps.
