Dancing with the StarsABT Stages its Fall Opener At the dinner at the Mandarin Oriental following the American Ballet Theatre's City Center fall gala, guests like Amy Fine Collins, Susan Fales-Hill, and Grace Hightower were still in raptures over the evening's performances. Of the rendition of Jerome Robbins' Fancy Free, Fe Fendi said, "It felt like we were at the ballet and on Broadway at the same time." However, those tempted to take a twirl themselves might have been disappointed to find that there was to be no post-dinner dancing. "We sacrificed the dance floor," said Muffie Potter Aston, a benefit co-chair. "But the extra tables we squeezed in helped raise a record $1.2 million for the ABT's dancers."
