designers who lunch

To commemorate the launch of the CFDA’s Fashion Targets Breast Cancer initiative on Net-a-Porter.com, Diane von Furstenberg opened the doors of her spacious new 14th Street office this afternoon for a lunch in honor of the site’s founder, Natalie Massenet. "It’s nice, no?" the CFDA president remarked. Nice, indeed. The affair drew fashion heavyweights such as Oscar de la Renta, Ralph Lauren, and Tommy Hilfiger, as well as Rachel Roy, Behnaz Sarafpour, and Marchesa’s Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman. The first Fashion Targets Breast Cancer items to go on sale on Net-a-Porter.com, during New York fashion week in September, will be specially designed Ralph Lauren Polo T-shirts. All proceeds will go to charity, an incentive that had other designers mulling over ways to participate. "The wheels are turning," said Phillip Lim about contributing to the cause. "Hopefully there aren’t any rules."
