Before she was a society darling and a fashion scribe, Amanda Brooks was a Brown grad with a photography degree, a past she’s now revisiting. Starting tomorrow, those logging on to the Men’s Vogue site can view her new column, In Her Eyes, in which the globe-trotting Brooks will focus her camera on thoroughly stylish men from Manhattan’s West Village to London’s West End. Her starting point will be classic pieces of the masculine wardrobe (seersucker suits, pocket squares) and the way they’re worn by the modern male. “It’s a photo collage of effortless style,” says Brooks, who will focus first on the enduring appeal of Ray-Ban sunglasses. Those who think they’ve definitely got “the look” should be wary: “Trendy guys are the worst,” she continues. “No girl I know wants their man to look trendy. And the guys I talk to just want their women to think they look hot.”
