twisted sisters

June 18, 2007  10:45 am

Pierces1

The Alabama-born, New York-based pop-folk sister act the Pierces (Catherine’s the blonde, Allison’s the brunette) are known for their noir sensibility—sample lyric from Bored, the deadpan riff on young Hollywood ennui from their latest album, Thirteen Tales of Love and Revenge: “Galliano/Donatella/Dolce & Gabbana/Boring…Sexy boy/Girl-on-girl/Ménage à trois/Boring.” The ease with which they weave designer brand names into their lyrics may account for the fact that they’re developing a firm fashion following. As they set off for a summer of touring in the U.S. and Europe, we asked the stylish duo to list their ten road-trip essentials:

1. a semicircle neck pillow

2. black leggings

3. vintage knee-high boots

4. a cozy cardigan

5. a great big Miu Miu bag

6. Ray-Bans

7. Xanax

8. a digital camera

9. Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Oil toothpicks

10. white wine

For more on the Pierces’ style sense, check out their look book, which will be up on Style.com on Wednesday.
