She’s been wearing her black diamond safety-pin earrings all over town for months. Now Genevieve Jones—until recently known primarily for looking good in designer wares rather than creating them—has turned her fashion know-how into a business. For the past year, Jones has been developing an eponymous line of jewelry in Thailand, with the goods landing in Kirna Zabête earlier this month. Inspirations for the white- and yellow-gold collection, which is embellished with diamonds of every color, include the beach, flowers, and even a little Art Deco. “It was really natural,” says the newbie designer about her fashion genesis. “It was an idea just put into fruition. I felt like there was an urgency to do this.” —Sarah Cristobal
