Not all of the good-looking things that cross our desks can be worn. Our inspiration boards are peppered with fashion show invites, hang tags, and pages ripped from look books—all of which can be as well thought-out and well executed as a finale gown. The intersection of graphic design and fashion is the subject of a new book called Fashion Unfolding. It showcases the sometimes unsung talents behind commissioned prints (Catalina Estrada for Paul Smith and Deanne Cheuk for Sue Stemp), sleek T-shirt graphics, and logos. Graphic artist Filip Pagowski dreamed up our favorite: the big-eyed heart that represents Play Comme des Garçons. Fashion Unfolding, $39.95, is published by Gingko Press and is available for pre-order on Amazon.com.
