“I have heard so much about this place,” declared Colette’s Sarah Lerfel last night at the MAC and Boombox book launch party, held at the cult club’s Hoxton Square location. “But none of the stories or pictures prepared me for how phenomenal people look here.” Indeed, the MAC-sponsored soirée brought out the Shoreditch scenesters in their full face-painted glory to toast the book that celebrates their unmistakable style. Amid the ultra-long eyelash extensions and over-the-top headgear, we spotted designer Marcus Lupfer and artist Wolfgang Tillmans, who contributed photographs to the new tome. Tillmans did little mingling since he spent the evening taking yet more shots of the club’s dressed-up denizens. When we caught up with him in the popular outdoor smoking area, he declared, “The whole scene is right here.”
