ikea who?

If you need to decorate your apartment but are wary of Identikit design, Phillips de Pury & Company may be your best bet for home decor. In an art world version of a stoop sale, acclaimed stage director Robert Wilson—whose list of collaborators includes Allen Ginsberg, Tom Waits, and Brad Pitt—will be auctioning off furniture, tableware, and stage props large and small from his personal collection, as well as his own designs. While the “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure” mantra doesn’t quite apply here, it’s certainly a chance to acquire a piece with some history attached to it. Items will be on view from Sept. 25-30; the auction is on Sept. 30. For more information, see www.phillipsdepury.com.
