Though it’s been open for business in a low-key way since the beginning of the summer, the first ever Dsquared flagship store had its official launch in Milan yesterday. The Caten twins are customarily flamboyant, but this was a relatively tame event: no queues at the door, no TV starlets, and no screaming fans. The lack of drama meant the focus was on the shop itself, which harkens back to the brothers’ roots—between the all-encompassing wood paneling and the stacks of kindling lying around, it must have taken the destruction of a whole Canadian forest to build.
