kane’s collection stolen

As if the pressures on young designers in the run-up to London fashion week weren’t enough, just days before his Spring 2008 show, Christopher Kane’s studio was hit by thieves. Twenty-three pieces, including key cashmere and leather looks, were stolen from what’s meant to be a pivotal collection for Kane, who’s looking for new sponsorship. He’s appealed for the garments to be returned, but is determined to re-create the full line in time for Monday’s show regardless. One thing’s certain: The scramble for Kane tickets now promises to be more fevered than ever.
