new york, olivier’s kind of town

When Nina Ricci’s Olivier Theyskens comes to town, he doesn’t fool around with tour guides. The designer was in New York for only 48 hours this week, to host last night’s opening of the exhibit Depth of Field: Modern Photography at the Metropolitan. Following an intimate post-museum dinner at Philippe with some VIP clients and good friends, Theyskens was spotted idling to his town car with not one, not two, but three of the city’s social luminaries—all of whom were wearing his Fall creations. Lauren Davis, Tinsley Mortimer, and Fabiola Beracasa happily filled their roles as hostesses and hand-delivered the designer to their regular booth at the Rose Bar for one last cocktail. “It’s not like reality,” he said of the experience. “I love it.”
