It’s a shame that the antics of the rich and infamous have sullied the term “diva,” linking it with projectile cell phone antics and no-show concerts, especially when a true diva appears on the red carpet. In her velvet-embellished, curve-clinging gown, soprano Anna Netrebko—she plays Juliet this season at the Met—looked miles away from a high-profile meltdown at the opera house’s opening-night gala yesterday. It’s nice to see some red-carpet drama without all the drama.
