the red and the purple

Christian Louboutin is in London this week for an ultra-important engagement. “I have to sign the deal to open my new store on Mount Street,” revealed the shoe designer. “But that’s just an excuse; I am really here to see Prince perform.” It turns out that the red-sole man is a hardcore fan of the Purple One. Having missed Prince’s surprise performance at the Matthew Williamson show on Wednesday, Louboutin plans to catch the singer’s final London concert tonight. What’s his favorite Prince track? “I can’t choose just one,” said Louboutin. “Raspberry Beret and Sign o’ the Times are two that I love.” While he once aspired but failed to become the president of his local Prince fan club, Louboutin did manage to meet his idol at the Victoria and Albert’s Golden Age of Couture party on Tuesday night. “When we were introduced,” he said, “I could barely speak.”
