a touch of glass

Some people really like to dress for the occasion. For the Whitney gala honoring Chuck Close last night, Lisa Perry wore a gown made from a print of the artist’s portrait of Philip Glass, which is part of the museum’s permanent collection. “I called Chuck and asked him if he had any of his images printed on fabric,” the designer explained. “He said he did, and I asked if he minded if I made it into a dress. The fabric didn’t even need to be cut, it was the perfect length. I just added the pink for a bit of pop.”
