peace movement

While the thrust-and-parry of fashion-show seating can rival anything that happens inside the Beltway, it’s generally the closest you’ll get to politics in fashion. Occasionally, however, a designer decides to make a statement through his or her clothes. That was the case with Bernhard Wilhelm and his superhero “statues”—actually models in statuelike poses inside wooden crates—at his presentation on Sunday. The models, the designer explained, were “representing different countries and different moments of time. Nobody believes in a peaceful existence, but this is my support for that cause.” We couldn’t quite make the connection, but, hey, we support world peace, too.
