seated words

After weeks of friends-of-Amy (Sacco) parties, London’s Bungalow 8 officially opens tonight. Some fixtures—the fashion crowd, the palm trees, and, of course, Ms. Sacco herself—have been imported from across the pond for the occasion, but there are a couple of new additions. Upon entering the club, visitors are greeted with two armchairs bearing the words “What happens at 8, stays at 8,” and another, ruder slogan that questions who Ms. Sacco is in no uncertain terms (let’s just say that one word rhymes with “luck”). The chairs are the handiwork of the East London-based Swedish duo Jimmie Martin. “The moment I met them,” Sacco told Style.com, “I knew I’d love their work, even though I had not seen a thing they’d done.” It turns out that the Jimmie Martin boys—Martin Nihlmar and Jimmie Karlsson—had no idea who Sacco was. “People had mentioned her, but we really didn’t know who she was,” said Nihlmar of the duo’s first encounter with La Sacco at a friend’s gathering earlier this year. “We’d just come out for the party.” Expect to see more of the duo’s designs—Sacco has signed them up to provide pieces for her future U.S. projects. Looks like they’re now FOAs, too.
