they could be (super) heroes

The Costume Institute has just announced its next major exhibit, to open in May 2008. Called “Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy” and sponsored by Giorgio Armani, the show will
explore the connection between characters like the Green Lantern and Wonder Woman and
la mode. Considering the effect the Institute’s recent Poiret exhibition had on designers’ imaginations, we can’t help but wonder if capes, tights, and unitards will be on the runways come September.
