more gossip, girls

November 29, 2007  12:48 pm

While we’re sure idle chat will be pouring out of last night’s Calvin Klein-sponsored New Museum opening on the Bowery for a few more days, tongues really got wagging about “Gossip Girl” at Beatrice Inn later in the evening. That’s because not one, not two, but three cast members of the CW show—which more than one fashion insider has admitted to being a secret fan of—were spotted on the backroom dance floor, including Chace Crawford (who plays Nate Archibald), Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf), and Jessica Szohr (new addition Vanessa). Although the outfits that the ladies were working were completely different from those they wear on the show—Szohr plays a boho-esque Brooklyn street schlepper, but donned a white Calvin Klein sheath; Meester’s Waldorf is a prim and proper U.E.S.’er, but looked downright disheveled in a flannel and cashmere skullcap—one aspect of the characters’ tele-lives that did translate was the seemingly real romance between Meester and Crawford, who were seen getting hot and heavy in a very public display of affection. But maybe that was just rehearsing.
