Gyllenhaal

Last year Longchamp asked Michel Gaubert, the fashion flock’s favorite DJ, to step into the role of designer. The result? An eight-piece mini-collection aimed at constant travelers like Gaubert himself. One high-tech case has pockets for MP3s, mobile phone, PDA, headphones, and power cords (one of the banes of Gaubert’s jet-setting life). Celebrating the collaboration with Gaubert at Longchamp’s Soho digs on Thursday night were Maggie Gyllenhaal, Mary Ellen Mark, and Mick Rock. The food—ribs—came courtesy of Payard, and the soundtrack was mostly created by the guests, each of whom was asked to submit three songs that had special meaning to them prior to the event. MG by Longchamp is exclusive to Colette starting on December 3, and in Longchamp boutiques at the end of January 2008.
