Nails

Makeup line Uslu Airlines and Bernard Willhelm have collaborated on a line of nail polish that lands in stores today. Feride Uslu, who does the makeup for Willhelm’s shows, explains that they decided on nail polish “because it’s the most visible, most colorful, and metrosexual cosmetic product.” The two split their time between different European cities (Berlin, Antwerp, and Paris), so they went with the airport codes of these “common regional relations” in naming their metallic shades (GWW-Gatow is blue; KNO-Knokke/Het Zoute is gold, and JDP-Héliport de Paris is a red). These high-sheen metallics, Uslu says, are “colors that reflect the winter sun.” The collaborators plan to launch different shades and other makeup, “but which and when is top secret.” And as for Willhelm wearing the new product, “I think you might spot some KNO on his small finger,” Uslu confided.
