Tanner Krolle is the latest old-school accessories brand to reinvent itself as a modern must-have. The change has come about thanks to Manuela Morin (formerly of Bottega Veneta, Leflesh, and Stella McCartney), now in her third season at the design helm of one of Britain’s oldest luxury leather goods companies. “It’s really important for us to keep the tradition of craftsmanship while still creating our own signature and building on top of them,” she told us. It seems to be working: Thandie Newton was recently seen toting the Starla python evening clutch (and has already requested the embroidered version for spring), Gwyneth Paltrow carries a caramel Eva satchel (above), and Erin O’Connor opted for the flat black riding boot. Does the designer have a dream bag in the collection? “It’s really hard to have just one dream bag. You have different attitudes that you like to express, so my dream bag is spread out through a few different bags. Many aspects of a woman’s character are represented in the collection; it all depends on your mood.” Translation: You may not be able to stop with just one.
