Ctonics

“We’re coming from the idea that you are what you eat,” says L.A.-based hair stylist Campbell McAuley of the new line of shampoos and conditioners he’s developed with holistic nutritional practitioner Dr. Julian Neil. “If you eat organic food, why not extend that to what you put on your skin and hair?” Working with aromatherapist Aleksandra Neil, the two have come up with CTonics, a series of tonics and elixirs (i.e., shampoos and conditioners) that are made of bioactive organic clay and essential oils rather than petrochemicals and sulfates, for a purely natural experience. That translates into not much lather, but don’t let the lack of suds put you off. After sampling the line, we can report that our hair has never felt so clean and soft. As McAuley says, “I wanted to do something that had a real philosophy behind it. I have strong feelings about shampoos.” For more information, see www.ctonics.com.
