Well, the weather outside was frightful, but inside the Irregular Choice store in Soho last night, the sun was shining, sandals were in season, and the unicorns were out in force. “We’re planning to change up the decoration to suit the season,” explained the U.K. brand’s designer, Danny Sullivan, gesturing to the Ecstasy-trip patterns festooning the walls of his first-ever store. “We’ve already got spring in,” Sullivan added, “so for us, it’s spring.” Sullivan’s trip across the pond to launch the store served as excuse enough for the vodka cocktail-fueled festivities; the presence of frequent Irregular Choice collaborators Heatherette helped to brighten the mood. “They’re all sold out of our last collection, which is a total bummer because it would have been great for everyone to see the stuff,” bemoaned Heatherette designer Traver Rains, who was attired in a mostly mesh, rainbow-emblazoned tank top. “But while Dan’s in town, we’re brainstorming next season, so that’s good.” Rains was willing to drop a few clues to February’s Heatherette extravaganza. “OK, think snowmobiles. Fur. And moccasins. But really glam.”
