Parsons student Victoria Traina is knee-deep in preparations for her final project, a short film she’s set to screen on Friday. But last night she managed to ditch the dorm and find her way to Tribeca, where she took up hosting duties alongside Julia Stegner at the opening party for Edon Manor. The luxe accessories shop is the brainchild of two of Traina’s Parsons pals, owner Davinia Wang and creative director Ryan Korban, who doubles as Traina’s partner-in-film. “It’s very Dada,” Korban said of Traina’s short, “and it’s all about Victoria’s shoes!” Korban has clearly learned a thing or two about fashionable footwear from his classmate; the selection of fetish objects for the feet at Edon Manor includes pairs from Proenza Schouler, Azzedine Alaïa, and a couple Givenchy rarities straight off the runway. “There were certain shoes we just couldn’t find anywhere,” explained Wang. “Which seems crazy for New York, but it gave us the excuse to open the store!” Another exclusive to the shop, due for spring: handbags by Alexander Wang, likewise a pal of the Edon Manor masterminds. “I’m, like, beside myself,” the designer reported. “I couldn’t be any happier for Ryan and Davinia. This place is genius.
