a private affair

Lebaron

For those who’ve watched as others have been whisked past them and the rest of the hoi polloi at Le Baron nightclub in Paris or its sister location in Tokyo, be prepared to endure the ritual once more in 2008 as the fashionista party haunt of preference adds Los Angeles to its stable of locales. “It’s really too early to talk about it right now,” insists André Saraiva, Le Baron’s co-founder and self-described “fake entrepreneur,” whose occupations over the last several years have stretched from artist to hotel proprietor, actor, magazine publisher, and concept boutique founder. His coyness didn’t deter curious Angelenos from investigating the whereabouts of the club’s Beverly Hills location, however. As news of the club’s pending American arrival spread, we tracked down Le Baron’s other co-founder, Lionel Bensemoun, who had this to add: “It is going to be very private and for friends only.” Naturally.
