Designer update

first things first

Centralstmartins

The latest Central Saint Martins grad to win the Harrods Design Award (i.e., to be anointed the city’s next big fashion hope) was David Steinhorst. In between getting his BA and MA degrees at CSM, Steinhorst worked for Preen, an experience that may have influenced his winning collection, which was heavy on draping and accented with metallic zippers. But his dream job is of an altogether different sort: He wants to work for Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy. “I love how he is melting his own experiences into the brand,” he told Style.com after the show on Friday afternoon. “But first, a pint is waiting for me in the pub.”
