The lights may have dimmed a good hour after the scheduled start time, but no wonder when you saw what Rock & Republic had put in place. From the full orchestra performing songs by The Who and Eric Clapton to a model casting that boasted a number of Victoria’s Secret catwalkers, this was surely fashion week’s biggest production. And the clothes? A procession of slinky evening gowns in black and purple, followed by an array of pantsuits in shades of gray and black, was a nod to old Hollywood glamour. Judging by the crowd’s cheers, it was just what they wanted to see.
