Kane

Just as he hinted to us last month, Christopher Kane worked some traditional Celtic knits into his collection. True, they were tulled and pailletted, but that’s the way Kane rolls. His show, held in a derelict parking lot at the University of Westminster, has so far been the biggest deal of London fashion week, as evidenced by the industry tour de force that showed up to watch. New British Fashion Council chairman Harold Tillman was there, as were Topshop top gun Philip Greene, Manolo Blahnik, Jefferson Hack, and fashion impresario Lulu Kennedy. They, of course, had excellent seats, which where hard to come by. As one insider observed, “It’s standing-room only—mostly because there are an unheard-of 150 sponsors here taking up the front row!”
