Woodenglasses

If the eyes are a window to the soul, you certainly want their window dressings to be as cool as the view. For a subtly different take on the geek-chic plastic frames we’ve been seeing lately, we like these new specs from Morgenthal-Frederics. Part of the brand’s Manhattan collection, the glasses come in three styles (the Prince and Spring models are above) and three colors and feature an earthy, wood-grain pattern. No trees were harmed in the making of the timber-textured eyewear—they’re actually made from uniquely molded plastic, designed in Japan specifically for the line. The clever frames retail for $535 and will be available this week at Morgenthal-Frederics boutiques. For more information, call (212) 966-0099.
