Location is everything. Nobody knows that better than accessories designer Jerome Dreyfuss, who has been patiently biding his time for the right place to open a retail space. “In a Woody Allen kind of way, this area perfectly epitomizes my fantasy of Paris,” he says of the 400-square-foot store situated along the Rue Jacob on the Left Bank alongside a multitude of cafés, butchers, wine shops, and art galleries. Dreyfuss had planned to open for business last week, but due to a few last-minute construction details, he won’t be doing so until this weekend. “I know exactly what I want, even if the final result takes longer to achieve.” The decor is inspired by a fifties gym and provides the perfect contrast to the boutique next door, Isabel Marant—who, incidentally, is Dreyfuss’ wife.
