Karen Millen was welcomed to the U.S. market with open arms last night at the launch party for its Soho shop. Though the U.K.-based brand has stores in 30 countries, the Prince Street location marks the company’s stateside debut. After the in-store fashion show of the spring collection (colorful dresses in structured satins and flowing feminine florals), we spotted among the packed crowd Mary-Louise Parker and co-hosts Lucy Sykes Rellie and her husband, Euan Rellie. We asked a few of the British guests to describe the line. “Great party frocks for good prices,” chirped Poppy Delevingne, who was decked out in a bright orange Karen Millen dress. “They’ve really stepped it up,” added the Supper Club’s Tamsin Lonsdale. But the evening wasn’t entirely given over to the Brits. Of one white leather jacket, Delevingne exclaimed, “I love this, it’s so Michael Jackson!”
