Bottle

When the Brazilian fashion designer Isabela Capeto launched her first perfume last year, she didn’t stray far from her roots, at least as far as the packaging went. The award-winning dolly-shaped red bottle, which was designed by the Swiss artist Sandrine Peltier, is based on Capeto’s quirky button-head logo. But appealing as the container is, the true test of any fragrance is its scent. Capeto, who’s known for her playfully bohemian, hand-embroidered pieces, worked with the Brazilian company Perfumaria Phebo to develop a spicy, layered fragrance that blends cardamon, pink pepper, cinnamon, Brazilian lily, and white musk—a mix that’s as unexpectedly appealing as her quirky designs. And though the scent is marketed as feminine, we can imagine a man smelling quite nice in it. The Isabela Capeto fragrance is now available in the U.S. at Henri Bendel.
