Busted! Maggie Gyllenhaal was caught trying to light up a cigarette last night at the Miu Miu party at the legendary Left Bank hot spot Le Castel. “Oh, really? You can’t smoke in here?” responded the actress as a starstruck security guard accepted her excuse and moved on to continue warning others in the midst of indulging in a “clope” regardless of the non-fumeur policy. Truth be told, most fashion week parties were enveloped in a cloud of smoke, ban be damned. As Chloë Sevigny observed at the Purple magazine do, “It’s good to see them rebelling against the ban—we are in France, after all.” In an attempt to accommodate those in need of nicotine hits, Le Baron even hired a London double-decker bus and outfitted it with a lounge especially for the purpose. Not that it made any difference—the bus was empty for most of the night as crowds continued to smoke up a storm inside the club. But you didn’t hear it from us.
