that’s not anna

The best show-crashing tactic ever or some yet-to-be explained stunt? At Lanvin today, a woman posing as Anna Wintour—fur trench, bob, Chanel sunglasses—was seen strolling into the tent at the Eiffel Tower without an entry ticket, trailed by an in-on-the-plot camera crew. Your helpful Style.com correspondent tried to tell one of the French Lanvin reps outside that this wasn’t in fact the Vogue editor in chief who had already previewed the collection. Came the reply: “You don’t think I know Anna Wintour? I know how to do my job.” The rep then marched off to direct the fake Anna to her seat. Meanwhile, Milla Jovovich—the real one as far as I could tell—was discussing her newborn baby girl and swapping camera-phone pictures with W’s Alex White. The conversation quickly turned to fashion, in this case baby clothes, and an important mothering question was quickly answered. At what age will their daughters start wearing heels? “Six!” they replied in unison.
