going gaga for dylan george

Who needs Justin Timberlake? Not Danny Guez. Formerly better known as Mr. Sexyback’s William Rast co-founder, Guez is going solo for fall with his new label, Dylan George, and to judge by the crowd cheek-by-jowled into L.A. hot spot Area for the brand’s launch party on Tuesday night, Guez will be doing just fine all by his lonesome. The fête was a truly multimedia affair: “The Hills” was filming, models were trotted out in Dylan George’s luxe-preppy finery, and VIPs were checking their iPhones for the latest update on the Lakers/Celtics game. Then Lady Gaga took the stage. Soon, everyone will know about Lady GaGa, but for those as yet unaware, imagine Gwen Stefani’s great-great grandchild, beamed back from the vaguely dystopian, happily pansexual, ass-shakingly poptastic future. That madness awaits; in the meantime, expect a Dylan George craze to follow the fall collection’s delivery this week: The clothes will be everywhere. Neiman, Nordstrom, Saks, etc. As for Guez, he’s perfectly content to leave the megastar thing to JT and continue to fly under the paparazzi radar. “I named the brand after my son,” he explains. “In other words, I’m in this business to stay.”
