not going to beijing? another way to get into the olympic spirit In case the political firestorm surrounding this summer’s Olympics has made you forget why we care about the games in the first place—ahem, the world-class athletes—the sculptors at Lladró have created two striking visual reminders. The Sprinter and the Swimmer were designed with anonymous, classical Greek proportions (as opposed to being modeled on, say, Michael Phelps’ similarly sculpted physique) with eerily lifelike details, though at 10 x 20 inches and 12 x 21 inches, respectively, they’re rather less than lifesize. Display one to show your appreciation for the historic athletic competition—or as a subtle reminder to your boyfriend to hit the gym. They’ll be available in July at all Lladró boutiques for $1,300.
