the return of the misshapes

When the MisShapes, that charmingly sullen DJ threesome, shuttered its weekly Don Hill’s party last September, a gasp of disappointment was heard from the Lower East Side to Williamsburg. But skinny-jean clad, eyeliner-loving young people need fret no more: Leigh Lezark, Greg K., and Geordon Nicol are back. Their new Web site goes up this weekend, and starting Saturday, they’ll be hosting a series of parties and music nights. “Back in September we were too busy to continue doing a weekly party,” Nicol sighs of
the infamous dance fests. “We thought it would make more sense to only have MisShapes events when we knew we could all be there and put 100 percent into the party.” Of the Web site, Lezark adds, “It’s always been important for us to promote new music and projects we feel important. The site is not only an extension of the party photos we’re known for, but also a great source for new music.” (And, unlike the parties, which many forget by the next morning—not that we’re judging anyone—the Web site will always be there.) To celebrate the return of the MisShapes, they’re having a launch party this Saturday at Santa’s Party House at 100 Lafayette. Expect spins from guest DJs Agyness Deyn, Benjamin Cho, Spencer Product, and others.
