som and blass part ways

Peter Som has reportedly resigned as creative director of Bill Blass. Apparently, the designer was none too pleased that the company, suffering from financial troubles, opted out of a Bryant Park show this September. How will the powers that be at Bill Blass handle the breakup? Lounging around eating Ben & Jerry’s and reading “He’s Just Not That Into You”? Diving into a rash rebound relationship? Only time will tell.

In other designer news, the blogosphere is buzzing that Marc Jacobs is set to wed his current beau, Lorenzo Martone, in Paris this weekend. If the rumor is true, it might be time for the designer’s former squeeze Jason Preston to laser off that massive “Marc Jacobs” tattoo on his forearm.
