Laird Loves EBay: Georges Lepape Fashion Plate
August 27, 2008 3:09 pm
Fashion plates are my preferred eBay buys, and I’m particularly excited about this one, because it’s the first Georges Lepape in my collection—and the subject matter is close to my heart (I have a ribbon drawer). Lepape, a French artist, worked closely with Paul Poiret, the Ballets Russes, and Vogue (Condé Nast brought him to New York in 1926) and is the quintessential Art Deco illustrator.
