swimwear’s seventh heaven

August 22, 2008  10:27 am

In balmier climes, swimsuits have become a totally acceptable form of daywear. If this fashion development leaves you, well, cold, Seventh Wonderland may warm up you up to the idea. “Girls today need options, so we’re designing suits that can be worn from the beach to a music festival, paired with your favorite jeans,” says Carlos Aviles, who founded the Sydney-based label earlier this year with partner Bonnie Coumbe. This season’s options are undeniably glam, inspired by an Art Deco pendant found in a Parisian flea market. The fan-and-chevron prints are all created by hand and transferred onto Italian fabrics that are then cut into silhouettes that, we’re happy to report, prevent those embarrassing readjustments normally needed during bikini-clad nights on the town.
