Watch Out For Lorena Barrezueta

August 28, 2008  12:09 pm

Lorena Barrezueta is a master of the double take. The Brooklyn artist creates porcelain dishes modeled on disposable tin food containers that will have you looking twice. Now she’s taken on jewelry—a collection of porcelain necklaces and bangles called Listen Lady. The bracelets are printed with images of Casio and Rolex watches and stud and houndstooth patterns. They have a tongue-in-cheek sophistication that whispers instead of shouts, but when you wear them, you can be sure you’ll be heard loud and clear.
