anthony lister’s open house

September 5, 2008  4:18 am

Since settling in New York two years ago, Australian artist Anthony Lister has been making a name for himself on the downtown scene with his “figurative pop modern observations.” He’s showing work in progress, including sculptures and the shipping container he’s customizing for a city-wide art project (his is destined for a spot outside MoMA). “The idea is to show the work in a domestic environment, outside of the usual gallery setting,” he says. Admission will be at the discretion of the door staff, but anyone willing to give it a try should make their way to 85 North Sixth Street in Williamsburg Friday night at 7 p.m.
