art from jeanne greenberg rohatyn’s private collection

September 29, 2008  5:16 pm

Jeanne Greenberg Rohatyn leads the art world by example. Salon 94, where she displays vanguard art in her Upper East Side town house, is one of Manhattan’s premier creative hubs. And as an eminently erudite and elegance presence on the art scene, Greenberg Rohatyn herself serves as a role model for aspiring collectors. That status lends logic to her decision to present a selection from her private collection for the first time at Vassar’s Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center, her alma mater’s on-campus gallery. For Excerpt: Selections From the Jeanne Greenberg Rohatyn Collection, which opens today, the trailblazing gallerist will be showcasing work by 18 top artists, many from her own roster, including Katy Grannan, Sarah Lucas, Julie Mehretu, Marilyn Minter, Wangechi Mutu, Tim Noble and Sue Webster, Richard Prince, and Aïda Ruilova.
