blasblog: will the rest of the week go this way?

Although it was nowhere near Marc Jacobs Spring 2007 territory, we had fashion week’s first very tardy start on Sunday when Costello Tagliapietra’s show clocked in at an over an hour behind schedule. Not that it was completely their fault—DKNY lagged a bit, and there were some technical glitches when the music started twice, then had to be rewound and restarted a third and final time (I never realized those mixes are worked down to the minute; I always just figured somebody had a really fancy iPod in that darkened booth). “Somebody better be on fire or dead back there,” teased Leigh Lezark, who’s own day was planned down to the minute since she had two more shows to attend (Preen and Hervé Léger) to attend before she hopped on a flight to the Toronto Film Festival, where she was booked to DJ for a single night (she’ll miss all of 12 hours of fashion week). But any annoyance was quickly forgotten when the first three models came out: Agyness Deyn, who brought along Henry Holland for front-row support; and two faces we haven’t seen much of for a few seasons, namely Caroline Ribeiro, one of the initial Brazilian babes who started the South American trend way back when, and Christina Kruse.
