Terrence Howard, Iron Man cast member and Academy Award nominee, bared his musical soul last night at the Bloomingdale’s and Vanity Fair Beat of Chic event to promote the release of his first recording album, Shine Through It. Yes, we know there’s always been synergy in Hollywood between film and recording studios, but how did Howard feel about picking up the mike, not just for kicks, but with Columbia Records backing the deal? “You’re only nervous when you don’t know what you’re doing, my grandmother used to say,” he said. He was equally enthusiastic about the outfit he was wearing—a powder blue suit, put together by his personal designer, David August. “I’ve been dissatisfied with men’s fashion for a long time,” the actor said. “We’re reduced to brown, black, gray, and ugly.”
