The Comfort Zone

September 23, 2008  1:29 pm

Though killer heels are being touted as the new handbag, in Milan we’ve noticed a slightly different trend: that ultimate comfort shoe, the slipper. Take the Ferré show this past Sunday, where we spotted three prominent slipper-wearers. André Leon Talley was wearing a moccasin style with his sheepskin coat, designer Tommaso Aquilano had on a refined dark-blue velvet pair, and Mariacarla Boscono sported a threadbare version with an aristo-crest. Given the agony rocketing stilettos can cause, we’re hoping this forgiving alternative takes center stage. You can get the look from Tom Ford (pictured), who offers slippers in velvet or with embroidery.
