Despite a front row dotted with shiny young ingenues, the fashion stars at Sunday’s PPQ show were two Teutonic platinum blondes who showed up in tights, vertiginous heels, and T-shirts that read “Nobody Ever Fed Me,” a reference to the soon-to-be-infamous Kate Moss quote in the current Interview magazine. As one, a Bavarian art student named Malin Beitmann who crashed the show, told us, “It has to be the greatest quote in the history of fashion, maybe in all of art. Nobody can say that models can’t be ironic, even Fellini-esque—even if it’s by accident.”
