tired of the costes again? try the chacha

Unlike New York or London, Paris doesn’t have a plethora of nightspots to choose from.
With the Costes brothers retaining a mafialike hold on the night scene, the choices are pretty much Hôtel Costes for early evening activities and Le Baron for late night. However, that may all change soon. Opened just in time for fashion week, the Chacha Club, in the-not-so-fashionable-it’s-fashionable district of Les Halles, is hip, chic, and most importantly, full service. In a first for Paris (it’s a traditional city), it offers a bar on the first floor—think modernist decor and taxidermy-decorated private salons, and a recording studio just for the hell of it—and a restaurant on the second. The place is already booked for most of fashion week. With Vivienne Westwood and Chloé holding after-parties here and in-the-know locals dominating the bookings, it will take a very charming personality indeed to get beyond the velvet ropes.
